I am constantly drawing inspiration from my surroundings, and this piece is influenced by the age-old understanding that one is not supposed to run with the scissors! As a middle school art teacher, this has happened often in my classroom, so I created a piece to hang in the room for my students to remind them that running with the scissors is a bad idea, and encouraging someone to do so is even worse! The addition of the imperative word "run" is intended to establish a context for the presence of the scissors. A fun little piece.
